Position of adverbial of time in a relative clause

Can anyone please tell me where I should place the adverbial of time when joining the following pair of sentences with a relative pronoun? and why?

Jane wore a beautiful dress yesterday.

The dress was designed by a famous fashion designer.

And how about this pair?

Hi, Califjim. Would you say this is awkward, if not wrong? Do you think we should front the adverbial of time if a relative pronoun were present?

Borrowing your ellipted sentence:

Jane wore a beautiful dress that was designed by John yesterday.

In your version John designed the dress yesterday.
With yesterday fronted Jane wore the dress yesterday.

There's a big difference.
Use the one that says what you mean.
