Position of a long noun phrase

(stand) at ease ----- used as a command to soliers to tell them to stand with their feet apart and their hands behid their backs.

I found the definition of '(stand) at ease' in my dictionary.

I suppose the underlined phrased is sent to the back because it is too long to put in between 'feet' and 'apart.' (i.e. ~~ with their feet and their hands behid their backs apart.)

Is my guess correct?
