Portray

Is portray the correct verb?

would you say it differently?

When I look at him, I see an athlete who just wants to play football.

I don’t agree. He doesn’t always portray the image of someone who just wants to play and it’s about the money.

thanks

I believe your sentences are correct. If I were to express the same thoughts in my common language, I might say something like: I don't agree. He doesn't always look like he wants to play.
