Hi,
Would anyone please explain what "Porta de Barto" means in the following context-from the Simpsons- American Cartoon?
I guess it is a made-up port name by Bart. And Bart meant many girls fell for him with the metaphor.
But what language is it for "Porta de Barto"? Is is Spanish? Would American viewers exactly understand? I heard about many Americans just speak English, though Spanish is popular in the US. Many thanks!
Bart: Hey, Lisa, your dance partner just made the cover Dorks Illustrated magazine.
Milhouse: I know that's a zing, but still...the cover.
Lisa: Now, you listen to me, Bart.Milhouse may not be the perfect date.
Milhouse: Please let there be a "But" coming, please!
Lisa: But
Milhouse: Landed it!
Lisa: At least I'm with someone who tries a little too hard because he really likes me.
Bart: Hey, plenty of babes have docked in Porta de Barto.
Porto de Barto = Bart's port (harbor)

Although the meaning must be as A.S. has explained it, it is definitely not Spanish, as it would have been "Puerto" in Spanish, not "Porta". The two are closely similar, so we'd probably be correct to say that it's "fake Spanish".
