Port of call

Hi.

What does 'port of call' mean in:

"After inauguration on May 15 or 16, he has pledged to make Berlin his first foreign port of call."
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/francois-hollande/9249754/France-election-2012-Francois-Hollande-to-be-greeted-by-market-turmoil.html

And, I found these definitions on the web:

port of call
n. pl. ports of call
A port where ships dock in the course of voyages to load or unload cargo, obtain supplies, or undergo repairs.
