Pop star “turned” business tycoon

Here are some sentences from Cambridge dictionary about turn meaning become (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/turn?q=Turn):

The weather has suddenly turned cold.

She turned pale and started to shiver.

The mood of the meeting turned solemn when the extent of the problem became known.

Keele, pop star turned business tycoon, has launched a new range of cosmetics.

After reviewing the similar threads, I know the above in red is a reduced participle relative clause. But why turned (the past participle), not turning (the present one) is used, while turn in other sentences is in active voice?
