Is "pop" a noun or verb here?
Please explain the use of exclamation mark in the context.
This is from his phonics reading book from the school for my 5 year old.

In this picture, "pop" just represents a sound. I don't know whether it can be assigned to any traditional word class. If a person said "Pop!" then probably it would be an interjection, but "interjection" does not seem right to me for a non-human source.
