Hi, It's hard to give a good answer to this question, and of course what works for one person does not always work for another. I usually tell people: use new words, speak them in a sentence, write them in sentences. I also tell people to read a lot of English, because they will slowly learn English words in that way, too.

  • I used to have a student who went home and wrote her new words on little pieces of paper, and then stuck them in places all over her kitchen.
  • Would that work for you?

Yes, I forget words too, if I don't hear them, read them or use them for a while. It is an ongoing natural feature of vocabulary retention in any language.
