Political posting of the month

(Broken link alert.)

While we have your attention, Mr President...
It's not often that we get the chance to speak directly to the most powerful man in the world. So as George Bush lands in Britain for his first state visit, we asked 60 Brits and Americans to make the most of it

Something for people of every political colour. My favourite so far (I have only read the first page):

Dear President Bush,
I'm sure you'll be having a nice little tea party with your fellow war criminal, Tony Blair. Please wash the cucumber sandwiches down with a glass of blood, with my compliments.

Harold Pinter
Playwright

But then, I've always enjoyed Pinter's work.

I once attended an "anti-Contra" (as opposed to "counter-Against") meeting organised and presided over by him in some drafty hall in Holland Park. It was so dull that all I remember about the evening is that Pinter looked someone who had once come eighth in an Yves St. Laurent lookalike contest.

For the puzzled (and another one for RF's "Never Seen In The Same Room Together" collection:)

Judging by the AUE Photo Gallery, I nominate Bob CunningHam/John Varela.

Pinter turned into a terrible arsehole some years ago. He is one of the essential dramatists of the 20th Century, his extraordinary innovations

A recent survey indicated that the majority of Brits are in favour of Bush's visit.

Whatever, it was a silly thing for him to write, if he actually wrote it. I dislike Bush along with the best, but find there is no reason to twist facts or resort to hysterics to support my many reasons for the dislike.

Do the pro-Arab-pro-Americans get much press, I wonder. Can a man be pro-Arab, particularly in regard to the Palestinian question, and not anti-Semitic at the same t
