Pointed the gun down

Sentence: Michael pointed the gun towards harry and pointed the gun down and Michael says to Harry that Michael is alone.

I don't know how to put "pointed the gun down" in correct way, Actually Michael pointed the gun towards harry for only few seconds only and next second he stopped pointing gun at harry. That means Michael pointed the gun gun down.
