Point of view - viewpoint

Hello,

I am very much confused with the usage of these words. I have few questions.

1. Are both the words the same regarding the meaning?

2. Can we use both the words interchangeably?

Thanks.

I would say yes, but usually I see "viewpoint" in technical matters rather than expressing opinions.

One is a prepositional phrase; the other is a compound word created from that prepositional phrase.
The meaning is the same, particularly in the context of a person's or group of people's opinion..
