Poetry. Translation.

Hello to everybody!
My name is Sandra. I'm trying myself in translation of poetry. It's really very challenging business but I like it. So, my friends and me have come to dispute - Is a translation of poetry just a combination of technics and skills or an inborn gift and some special branch of art?

I would have to disagree. Although you do have to have an open mind, sure, there are no certain special artistic skills you need in order to translate poetry. The best thing about poetry is that it has a different meaning to every individual. There is never a right or wrong answer - don't ever let an English teacher tell you that there is. Nobody's mind is the same, nobody has had the experiences
