Poetry appreciation

Hi
These lines are from the poem "The Night of the Scorpion"
Please tell me what follows them is an appreciation of the literary features.
"The peasants came like swarms of flies and buzzed
The name of God a hundred times
To paralyse the Evil One."

The poet tells the peasants who came to know about the scorpion bite came rushing into the house in panic. The simile comparing peasants to swarms of flies makes the reader feel that people entered the house en mass. The effect of the imagery - peasants coming like swarms of flies- makes the reader appreciate the seriousness of the situation. It also makes think how anxious the innocent and ignorant peasants can become when their neighbor's life is at risk and at the same time it also tells how caring they are toward their neighbors.
