Can I use the phrase 'a blinding trance'?

Hi, You can say anything that you want to. But it doesn't bring a clear meaning to my mind. A trance makes me think of someone asleep.

You can say anything that you want to.

But it doesn't bring a clear meaning to my mind.
A trance makes me think of someone asleep. In what sense would a trance be blinding?

Thanks. I wanted to use it to refer to someone who is entranced in a state of wakefulness. But I guess since it already refers to an unconscious state, there would be no need to add blinding?

This is a nonsensical combination. You can join any adj. to any noun, but only a few pairings make any sense. This one doesn't. As to exactly why it doesn't, the word "trance" typically is not modified by an adj. This is such a strong and unique word that it stands by itself and essentially cannot be associated with another word. Moreover, the word "blinding" is also a strong word with its o
