Poetic Freedom

Isn't poetic freedom a setback in the efforts to upkeep proper grammar usage and stop the disintegration of the language's grammar principles?

Many poems and pieces of literature have really bad grammar and many people use the freedom given to invent new styles that infect the grammar of students' writings.

*THIS IS NOT TO BE TAKEN OFFENSIVELY, ALL I WANTED WAS TO EXCHANGE MY VIEWS ON THE TOPIC. IF IT DISPLAYED A SENSE OF OFFENSE, I SINCERELY SHOW MY REGRETS.*

We have entered a period of rigidity with the dictionaries dictating spelling and locking out new words by omission. Hi,

Poets who post on this Forum never seem to me like a danger to English.

But people who post in test-speak make me want to weep for the future of English. lol

Feeling particularly bold today, I'm going to challenge that.
I know, English is not my first language, and I'm not even a historician of the language. So that seems a little pretentious of me; but hear me out.

Henry74If the statement was about Italian litterature vs. Italian grammar, I would dare you to find a poem or a piece of recognized litterature that had bad grammar in it. You would have to go back to Latin, but you would of course be changing language. It seems to me that the same argument could apply to English.
well, you might be interested in e.e. cummings.

Hhmm. Okay. I see. So maybe English poetry is different in this respect.
Actually, perhaps I should discard poetry in general, if I wanted to try and salvage my argument
