Hi,
I was listening to a podcast where I came across a few things I'd like you to clear up for me.
1) One of the guys there said: "I set out writing the article about a week ago."
Shouldn't it be 'set out to write' or is there perhaps an exception to that rule?
2) "We were having the time of our life."
That's what another person there said. I'd swap out 'life' for 'lives', but my question is if the former is actually incorrect in the given example.
3) Then they were talking about a particular French song and one of them said that after he learnt French, he was finally able to 'peek behind the lyrics' and understand them.
Can 'peek behind the lyrics' be used here to mean that he knew what the lyrics were about?
