Vocabulary

pm/am

Somebody is calling me really early or on the contrary really late. I want to emphasize that. Which one sounds better to you? Too early: 'Are you out of your mind?! It's 6 am! OR It's 6 in the morning!'? Too late: 'Are you crazy? It's 11 pm! OR It's 11 in the evening!'? I think both are OK, but I'm not sure. Part of me believes that pm and am cannot be used in this meaning. Thanks in advance for your help)
