plz help me with the grammar of the sentence. many thanks..

Interestingly, technology can positively contribute to the keeping alive of traditional skills and ways of life.
In this sentence, I do not know whether “the keeping alive of sth” is acceptable grammatically. Is it a noun phrase? Can I say that “Interestingly, technology can positively contribute to keeping alive traditional skills and ways of life.”? And I think this is the phrase of ”contribute to doing sth” and there is an inversion in the sentence.

Thanks for your reply! So this kind of usage is obviously awkward? But is it acceptable in grammar?
