These days, an increasing number of people are concerned about distance-learning. However, whether online courses cannot bring the same benefits as face to face curriculum has caused heated debate. In my views, I agree with this argument for the following reasons.
It is obvious that only by studying with real teachers can learners comprehend the lessons easily. This is because teachers play a vital role in helping students explain and tackle numerous arduous assignments. By doing so, we can ensure that during the whole lesson in class the students will not be only obtain knowledge and skills, but also motivate them think independently. Therefore, it is very crucial for learners to have a helping hand from the teachers.
More importantly, using distance learning is only suitable for theoretical subjects rather than practical ones. For example, that studying electrical majors relates to the machines needs practice every day. The learners will not involve in practice through the online lessons which have a negative effect on their job in the future when dealing with competitive global market.
It is not to say that leaners should not pay attention to online courses. In some cases, there are some positive sides of learning online course when leaners don’t have much time spending in class for their individual reasons.
To sum up, online learning hardly replaces face to face learning because some limitations can be seen from this method. However, we need to have a balanced approach between the two methods to gain more knowledge as we expect.
