0Hi, I doubt very much that there are 2400 independent schools in London - possibly this is the figure for the whole UK?. The GCSE is not a single exam, there are separate exams for each subject. After 16, some pupils continue in the same school, others go to college to do their A Level exams- which are what you need to go to university.
