Dear Madam,
I am a M.Sc. (Biotechnology) student at ---. I would like to apply for the PhD position in the Project- “--------”.
I have a keen interest in the field of environmental technology, when environmental technology came as a course in the VI SEM of my graduate studies and then in the II SEM of my master studies I decided to go into this direction only and therefore I did my M.Sc. Dissertation from the Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment Division of the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, India. By working there I had the opportunity to gain knowledge about environmental risk assessment and I found this area quite fascinating to work in because it is directly benefiting both society and nature. I carried out my dissertation work under the guidance of an eminent chemist; this gave me a very good experience of working in an interdisciplinary environment. I got good experience of the current trends in the environmental impact assessment in the world through some international conferences and seminars held at NEERI, Nagpur in which I got the opportunity to present posters on my dissertation work and interacting with many scientists working on this theme which made me to do my doctoral studies on in this field only.
As I have done my Masters in biotechnology so I am well versed with all the microbiological techniques too. I have done trainings in Pathology and Immunotechniques that I think will help me in the health impact assessment work. I am fluent in English and being an Indian I am well adapted to multilingual environment. I am competent at both, working as a team and as an individual.
My plans now are to continue with hard work and to accomplish as much as possible in this field only and your position seems to be filling all my interests. The international acclamation, strong international network and the innovative work being done at "----" appeal me to join this institute so that I can have the opportunity of getting the most advanced and highly refined knowledge of this field that will be surely a great head start for my career.
