Are these below both OK as English?
·People exchange greetings when they see people they know well.
·People exchange greetings when they see someone they know well.

I think it's OK. But the first sentence I like less because you repeat people twice: "people... see people"

So in such cases, the idea of 'distributive singular' comes first, right?
