Plurals

Hello.

I have a question about the use of plurals in a possessive case such as “things of things”.

For example, shall I use a plural for the first noun in the following sentence?

The (?) temperature(s) of the rooms should be measured real time.

Truly Yours,

If they are expected to be different temperatures, then the plural is clearer. There is no simple rule for your question. Generally, by the laws of physics, separate things will have separate things, but other conditions may apply: The heads of the church were praying.
