Plural with holiday / every second night

Hi teachers,

1. I have to work at Christmas holiday or Christmas holidays?

2. I have to work every second night. What does that mean?

1. I hear people say: I work at Christmas. Does this mean the same as Christmas holiday(s).

2. Do you mean "work every other night" same as "every second night"?

1. Yes, that is probably what they mean. If they have to work on Christmas Day itself (12/25), then they will probably say just that: I have to work on Christmas Day.

2. Yes. Every other night = every second night = alternate nights
