Which is correct? (1) Mary's and Liz's project plan, or (2) Mary and Liz's project plan

I'd use #2 if it was a joint plan.

If they had more than one joint plan I'd say 'Mary and Liz's project plans.'

If they had separate plans I'd say 'Mary's and Liz's project plans.'
