Plural possesive question / subject verb agreement

Hello,

Many kind thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with a plural possesives and subject-verb agreement question I have.

In regard to plural possessives, I am curious about which version of the two following sentences is correct and why:

1. A. Most people are still losing their job nowadays.

B. Most people are still losing their jobs nowadays.

2. A. Compared to Western women, Asian women tend to have smaller bone structures.

B. Compared to Western women, Asian women tend to have a smaller bone structure.

In addition, I recently took an online grammar quiz re: subject-verb agreement. However, I was surprised that my answers were wrong. The first sentence I missed is as follows:

"He is one of the professors that ___ too much"?

I answered talks but was told the correct answer is talk . How is this possible?

The second sentence is as follows:

"He is one of the alumni that ____ each year to the scholarship"?

I answered contributes but was told the correct answer is contribute. Again, how is this possible?

Thanks again for your time.

Use a singular object when you are referring to the same, single object for all of them.
