Grammar

Plural or singular?

Hi grammar experts,

i was reading a comment for a book and came across this sentence:

"The bravado, the confidance, the wit, and the eloquence that Manhattan's high society adore him for is a mask that he has put on to hide how he really feels about himself"

two questions:
1- shouldn't we use "Adores" instead of "Adore"?
2- "is a mask" or "are masks" or "are a mask"

Thanks a lot for your help.

Anonymous 1- shouldn't we use "Adores" instead of "Adore"? The option is open: the writer in the original is conceiving of society as many people, not a single unit. Anonymous 2- "is a mask" or "are masks" or "are a mask" 'Are a mask' is an option: the writer in the original is conceiving of the list of qualities as a single personality.
