Hello guys!

Which verb I should use in this sentence? Is or Are? Is the sentence correct?

The costs of the contrast medium is not included.

You can say:

"The costs of the contrast medium are not included."

"The cost of the contrast medium is not included."

"costs" has a stronger sense of ongoing or recurring expenses.

(As far as verb agreement is concerned, don't be distracted by "of the contrast medium": the principal subject is "cost(s)".)

'The cost of the contrast medium is not included.' is almost certainly the sentence you want.

For me 'costs' implies multiple types of cost. Even if the contrast medium is something that the customer buys on a recurring basis, there remains only one (albeit it ever-increasing) cost.
