Plural or singual for words after ANY

When reading my bosses email, his first language is Spanish, so I am thinking it is a conversion issue. The question is: Should he use plurals for:

If you have any question?

Should it be: If you have any questions?

Review Policy twice a year to make sure you are aware of any update.

Should it be: Review Policy twice a year to make sure you are aware of any updates.

This makes me wonder everytime.
