Plural or not?

Hi,

I'm comfortable with "Both meanings are the same."

I'm fine with "Each has the same meaning."

But I keep changing my mind on "Both have the same meaning(s)."

Any help?

Thanks, - A.

" so I assume your continual change of mind is between these: 1. Both have the same meaning. 2.

  • " so I assume your continual change of mind is between these: 1.
  • Both have the same meaning.
  • 2.
  • Both have the same meanings.
  • If it's of any help to you to know how I personally hear these, then I say that 1 involves two entities each of which has one meaning, and 2 involves two entities each of which has multiple meanings.

You titled this thread "Plural or not?" so I assume your continual change of mind is between these:

1. Both have the same meaning.
2. Both have the same meanings.

If it's of any help to you to know how I personally hear these, then I say that 1 involves two entities each of which has one meaning, and 2 involves two entities each of which has multiple meanings.
