plural of person

is the plural of " person", "people", or " persons".

Should I say 2 persons or 2 people?

Almost always, it will be "2 people."

As Barbara says, the plural is 'people'. But 'persons' is used in notices. For example, in the lift, we may read 'Capacity: 8 persons'. In taxis, you may see such a notice 'Capacity: 5 adults ... '
