Plural in words with suffix -ment , say equipment

I have learned that you can't just put an s to the plural word that has a suffix -ment. like, for instance equipment. any clarifications on this grammar rule?

Bump-- does anyone have an answer to this one?

Improvement/s?
Equipment/s?

Certain words are more obvious than others, such as Establishment.

Hi,

It's possible to count establishments and improvements, but not equipment.

It has nothing to do with the suffix -ment, so you can forget that aspect of the question.

Some nouns are countable; some aren't. The suffix doesn't come into it.
