plural acronym

I always run into singular form of acronyms, e.g field-programmable gate array(FPGA). But the following sentence actually needs plural form for the aconym. So my question is should I use the plural form for both the original name and the acronym? And should there bt a space between the original name and the parentheses?

"... is a world leader in field-programmable gate arrays(FPGAs), semiconductor devices that can be programmed after manufacturing."

Thank you!

Yes, using the plural in both places is correct.

In ordinary text (i.e. excluding special cases like computer program listings, mathematical formulae etc.) there should always be a space before an opening bracket.
