Plural?!

Hi.
'....he was really appreciated in his lifetime for his great insights.'

Why is 'insight' pluralized here and what does it mean?

Thanks in advance!

Meaning that he had insight on more than one specific topic, or on different facets of the same topic. Like I would say that Albert Einstein had great insights into the field of physics... because he theorized on more than just one facet of the discipline.
