Plural

Can anyone help please - a rather strange request, but we were talking with some frineds last night, and would like to know what is the correct way of saying more than one tortoise! Is it tortii or tortoises or something else? Many thanks Kate

Hello, Kate. The only plural of "tortoise" I know is "tortoises". If there are any alternative forms, I've never heard of them.

I'd go with "tortoises" as well.

I think I'm going to start using "tortii" with my friends though, just for kicks.
