Nowadays, there is a trend that reports of media focus on problems and emergencies rather than positive developments. Some people think it is harmful to individuals and society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
From a social perspective, some individuals believe that some reports of media are concentrated on problems and emergencies rather than a positive development. In addition, people argue that this is a negative development and I totally agree with this idea.
To begin with, I believe that the way many people indicate that some articles of media are too focused on serious issues is really harmful. First, it allows people to easily suffer from depression due to so many sensational journalisms. To illustrate this, some breaking news related to serious issues like the outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a coronavirus. While the national and local authorities are trying to campaign for preventive methods to a wide variety of people, there are still having some yellow newspapers whose purposes are driving people to curiosity and racism. Moreover, people have to focus on positive things like some role models in business or the way some entrepreneurs coming from underprivileged families but getting success in order to move on to the career ladder or have a positive outlook on life in any emergencies or difficulties.
On the other hand, it is a good idea to limit some problems or emergencies to some extent. First, a welfare state is likely to exist when people keep a positive mindset, stay calm and keep moving. To illustrate this, governments should eliminate some articles whose primary contents are not based on true information or follow editorial policy. Second, the young generations have a tendency to be distracted due to so many serious issues that procrastinate their studying and working. For instance, some breaking news that is relevant to domestic violence, easily driving them to a negative overthinking is that they tend to be afraid of ending in divorce or breakups which are easily happened in formative years.
To sum up, I believe that news related to problems and emergencies is extremely bad for the mental health of people. Additionally, people have to focus on positive changes a lot to exceed their limits and move on to a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
