Pls rephrase this: 4 words

Hi, (excuse me reposting this but I've got no replies.)

Would you rephrase the part I underlined? It's from a book.

Little did you know that you just slept with the same guys that hang out in the lobby at closing time every night; the walk of shame buzzards.

Thank you,
M

) Your walk of shame is probably something like running the gauntlet. Calling these people "buzzards" refers to the habit these birds have of picking the meat off corpses. Perhaps the implication is that it's shameful to walk by these vultures who are picking you out as a victim.

  • Forgive me if I don't attempt to rephrase it.
  • I'm not sure if "little did you know" proclaims your innocence.

"Walk of shame" is usually a take-off on "Walk of fame." (In Hollywood, at Hollywood and Vine, there are hundreds of plaques set flat into the sidewalk, with bronze inserts carrying the names of famous entertainment personalities.)

Thank you very much for your decent explanation.

Actually explanations are better than rephrasing since I can use it if I understand it correctly. But I sometimes ask rephrasing because I think I'm a heavy user of this forum and hesitate to take the contributors' time. (I believe rephrasing is easier)

Anyway, thanks again for your help

The "walk of shame" is when a woman returns to her home wearing the same clothes she wore the night before because she went home with someone. When you see a woman wearing a spangly dress, dark hose, and high heels at 9 am on Sunday, but without make up, changes are she's not on her way to church.

Hi, GG,
Do you think "the walk of shame buzzards" in the OP are the men or the women? - A.

It's an odd thing to say. The buzzards are the men who prey on those who do the walk of shame, I guess.

Thanks, Barb. That's the way I'm thinking of it.

Merry Christmas.
Will you be singing in the choir?

Rgdz, - A.
