Pls help review

Dear Ms. Adriana Lago Carvalho

I would like to apply for the xxx programme at the xx in the autumn semester of the academic year 2012-2013 for a period of 10 months. I am a first year Bachelor student in Biology at the xxx

There are several reasons for my interest in studying abroad. First of all I would like to do something challenging and adventurous, and I would like to see more of the world. Secondly studying abroad would give me the opportunity to meet new people with different backgrounds, and work together with people from different cultures who all have their own perspective on things, and experience another educational system. Furthermore this opportunity would give me an unique experience to live in another environment and to gain more independence.

I was delighted to find the opportunity of studying Biology at the xx for 10 months. I chose xxx as my preferred destination because I would love to get in touch with the xxx culture and educational system. I have been interested in the xxxsociety for many years which also strengthens my motivation to live and study in this country. Despite I have not been studying xxx at any institution, I have always had a strong interest in learning new languages and discovering other cultures and traditions which is why I am learning french at present. With regards to my English language skills I truly believe that my level of English is more than sufficient for studying at this university.

I am self-confident, flexible and hard a working student, especially in teams, so I hope I could contribute a lot to the academic environment. The academic offeres at this university will help me to reach my aim to enrich my knowledge .And I am sure that the time spent in xxx will allow me to broaden my perspective and contribute to my personal development by expanding my abilities and widening my experience in a variety of academic disciplines. I consider it is a challenge and an opportunity to explore and identify ways of improving myself at the same time, this opportunity would be a means to improve my English and to learn another language.
I believe that studying at xxx will have a positive impact on my future professional life and I am confident that my experience in xxx would be extremely valuable, exciting, and fun for both my studies and overall general development.
