Many people use distance-learning programs to study at home, but some some people think that it can not bring the same benefits of attending college or university. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Nowadays, learning from online course is becoming a preferable choice, while others believe that it will not be better that studying in educational institutions. In my opinion, university and college can bring some benefits, I strongly disagree with that view due to the fact that long-distance learning can offer some potential advantages.
First, online courses can provide an unlimited number of study topics. This means that learners have more choices to decide what majors they are keen to learn. Therefore, long-distance learning becomes a better option to impart knowledge.
Moreover, distance-learning programs are usually cheaper and suitable for those who have flexible hours, as it can be available anytime and studied everywhere. When in a train, for instance, you can improve your English by just simply turning on your smartphone connected with the Internet and listening to some English materials.
However, going to universities can bring you some benefits because you can exchange ideas with others and quickly find out your own weaknesses. But educational institutions just give a limited number of subjects, and can make some students rely too much on their teacher's knowledge, which prevents them from broadening their outlooks by themselves.
In sum, while college and university are good places to obtain knowledge and skills, I strongly believe that online courses will provide students with more considerable benefits.
