Topic: Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer.
What, in your opinion, should be the function of a university?

Knowledge and skills are so necessary for students who are preparing for looking for the job. Universities should provide real knowledge and skills about the work, or give a certification regardless of whether the course is benefical to employer. It's still controversial. In my opinion, I totally agree with universities have to teach real knowledge and skills needed in the workplace.

First, since students need to know about realistic things in the workplace, they can adjust to work easily. In fact, students have experience from doing part-time job or taking part in social activities who can become official worker quickly. Because they have great curriculum vitae with certificication volunteer. In addtion, when they train as trainer in the company, they can do well because they have realistic skills, like team-work, management,...

Second, employers can have qualitative workers. In fact, many companies take 2-3 months to train new workers whom are lacking in skills and knowledge in the workplace. Many new workers feel shock because they haven't experienced the workplace enviroment before. It make a lot of difficulities for both employee and employers, like waste the time, slow down the development of company,...Therefore, students need to be provided information and improve their skills when they still study at universities.

To summarize, I think the main function of a universities is to provide society with students who know how to apply the knowledge they have learned to the real word.
