Pls help me correct my letter

Dear Tom,

I am happy to receive your email asking about my competition. Thank you for your concern. But I regret to tell you that I was eliminated in the preliminary contest.

On reflection, I have found two reasons behind my disqualification. One is that I didn’t attached enough importance to it and therefore was not well prepared. The other is I suffered stage fright in the contest, which, I think, may come from my inadequate preparation.

From this experience, I have learned that success favors those who are well equipped. In future, whatever I do, I must do it well.
