Topic: We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
My essay:
Some people believe that they just have a role and social obligation to help their own countries and communities. I completely disagree with this idea.
First, nowadays, people can help everybody in the world in a variety of ways. In the past, communication and transport were not development, so it was very difficult when people wanted to raise funds for charity. Currently, technology is developing. Internet is one of the best inventions in the world. People can easily connect with others, especially by social media. For example, in Vietnam, people in the southeast area is usually affected by many storms. They have many difficulties because most of them lose their home and asset. By news and social media, Facebook and Instagram, charitable organizations are established faster and more effective. In addition, global organizations currently are places which accept aid, such as food and money and give them to the poor. For instance, the WHO is one of the best organization in the world. It helps a lot of people, especially African countries, who are usually affected by famine and drought.
Second, when people help other countries, they can develop an international relationship. For example, one month ago, Vietnamese fishermans helped approximately twenty Philippine fishermen when their ship was broken and they didn't have enough food and water. This story makes the relationship between Vietnam and Philippine develop better.
In conclusion, I believe that people have to help as many people as possible because not only it is easier currently by technology but also international relations.
