PLS!! Help me by checking my essay_Traditional ideas

Topic: The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

My essay:

It is true that many ideas from older people are not totally necessary and compatible with the need of younger people. While I agree that some ideas are old and become preconception which need to disappear, I believe that others can play important roles to foster young people’s knowledge and confidence.

On the one hand, many old ideas become a lot of preconceptions which have a lot of detrimental impacts for the young. Preconception puts much pressure and force young generations to be reluctant do them. Especially Eastern countries, there are many cultures which are so deeply engrained in society. One of the most obvious examples is that although the reality of trying to change sexist between male and female, however, is challenging. In fact, many families force the mother to born a boy because they believe male role is higher than female.

On the other hand, many traditional ideas are still beneficial and values to improve young people’s knowledge and become priceless life guidelines in the modern world. Most of traditional ideas are based on a lot of failures and experience. Young people can take advantage of them to avoid mistakes of forefather that make them feel more confident. In addition, they help young people more knowing about the past and thus, more understanding about the present. For instance, as the old saying goes: “The life is better when you laugh”, older generations attach great important role of smile. Although the life is not simple and always has many obstacles, smile and optimism are the best motivations to overcome any difficulties.

In conclusion, although preconception and old ideas have detrimental impact or sometimes are unhelpful, many great and priceless ideas are still alive and necessary for young people in their future.
