Topic: Explain some of the ways in which humans are damaging the environment. What can governments do to address these problems? What can individual people do?
My essay:
Nowadays, one of these serious problems in the world is human negative effects on the environment. Governments and individualism have to contribute to reduce negative effects and protect the environment.
People do a lot of harm to the environment currently. The main issue is that the number of vehicles is increasing as the population rise. It leads to the burning of fossil fuels such as diesel fuel and petrol relative to carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Streets in Vietnam are flat and suitable for motorbike. It is well-known as the kingdom of motorbike. Ha Noi is the capital of Vietnam which is a case in point to air pollution because of the large number of motorbike. Second, plastic becomes an urgent problem. It is easy that a person recognizes how pervasive plastic is in his life. Plastic has taken over everywhere, from home to supermarket. More than half a billion plastic straws are used every day around the world, most of which goes into landfill sites.
The government is a vital role to address the urgent environmental problems relative to human negative effects. First, the authorities have introduced laws to raise public awareness. For example, in Da Nang city, local authority increases fine to business which poses a serious threat to the environment by industrial waste. Second, the government promotes public campaigns to educate children and contribute to reducing carbon dioxide. For instance, in Vietnam, the Prime Minister has taken part in a "walking" project which encourages people to jog and reduce vehicles.
Individualism has an essential part to protect the environment for the long-term. One of the best solutions is that whether people are shopping for food, clothes or books, use a reusable bag. Plastic grocery - type bags that get thrown out end up in landfills or other parts of the environment. The reusable bag is one of the best choices to cut down plastic bags. A second measure is that people able to use renewable energy from solar or wind and power stations. This solution contributes to reduce carbon dioxide that leads to ozone layer depletion and melting of the polar ice caps.
In conclusion, there are various human factors leading to damaged - environment and steps need to be taken to address the serious issue. Governments and individualism take responsibility to protect the environment.
