Topic: It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviors to children?

My essay:

Some people believe that punishment contributes to children's awareness which helps them to recognize the difference between right and wrong. I completely disagree with this idea.
First, punishment can make children to be scared when they are wrong. In my opinion, youngsters can be wrong in some situations because they are still young and need to have more experience. Therefore, because of punishment, children will be under too much immense pressure. They will be worry and will not be brave and face to challenges and explore themselves. For example, when children have wrong answers, punishments are not necessary. If parents or teachers use punishments, children will be scared and tried when they learn new things. They will not want to discover and experiment with new knowledge. And punishments from Asian traditional parents and teachers are the most problem which needs to change. It has made a lot of students, especially in primary school, do not study, create innovations and talk in public.
Second, therefore, parents and teachers have a huge role to teach children to recognize between wrong and right. They can give children advice and guideline. In addition, they can talk or write many examples to help children understand easily. Parents could collaborate with teachers to come up with feasible solutions such as warning and self-criticism. For instance, when I was a child, I skipped class once and my parents and teachers recognized it. Instead of punishments, my parents and teachers gave me a lot of advice and some stories about bad things when I skipped class. I realized my mistakes and felt apologize which more profound than any punishment.
In conclusion, I do not believe that any punishment should be made for children when they are wrong which can help them understand this distinction.
