SK elections: Training the youth for corruption

Hunger for power and corruption are just but the top causes of political issues in our country. As these issues get more intriguing, more and more people get involved seriously; sometimes even the youth. This problem presents the youth as assets that are to be future leaders but are being destroyed by the issues affecting our country.
Involvement of the youth in political issues should be unraveled for it affects them physically, emotionally and mentally. Physically and mentally because they will think more about these political problems, they start to think of solutions to the various problems arising in their community rather than to pursue and focus with their studies to reach their goals and aspirations. They are most likely to become emotionally. As their juvenile minds come to think of problems and begin to find a solution. This political involvement greatly affect their education, some of them prioritize their political career rather than exerting much effort on their studies
Running for a position in the SK is a part of youth’s involvement in politics, which exposes the youth to corruption and hunger for power. Even though their involvement in politics develop and enhance their leadership and civic-mindedness and political awareness still its negative effects are very risky. Corruption is a complicated matter which is not easy to solve. For all we know, that ones who are trying to stop corruption are the ones who are doing it. Even in the election of SK officials, vote buying is widespread. How can corruption be stopped if our local government and SK officials are corrupt? They must remember that we are following their actions, they act as our role model and therefore they must act accordingly to what they are expected to do.
One way of preventing the youth from serious involvement in politics is to keep them busy with their studies and developing their potentials rather than joining anti- government activities and rallies. The government should implement projects that can improve the skills of the youth which can keep them from getting involved seriously in political issues.
After all, we need youth who are intelligent, responsible and with all the vigor and strength of character who are expected to build a strong nation for the next generation.
Each of us needs to act and participate in combating corruption. We should not depend on the politicians since they are the primary suspects. Let us think positive, our country still has all the chances to fight corruption. Unity, optimism and cooperation are what we need to attain success and progress of the Philippines in the future.
