Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

===

Many people think that living in a small town is very boring. They don’t have much entertainments in a small town. They don’t have big shopping malls, cinemas or discos. What they do in leisure time is singing a folk song or riding a horse. On the other hand, Cities are full of every thing, anything you want you can find it there. Cities are full of excitements and fun.

However, I can’t agree with the majority. Sometimes, I watch TV and see people living in the country. They look like they are very relaxed without any worries or stress and they enjoy their lives very much. They don’t have to suffer the stress from their works and also from their families. They don’t have to worry about the money nor their jobs. They live in concord with their colleagues and their families without any fighting or quarrelling. The crime rate is low and everyone knows each other since they were kids. They are not only neighbours to each other, they are also friends to each other. It’s like there is no stranger in the town and no one would feel skeptical of anyone. They trust each other totally. They could even let their doors unlocked at night without fearing that they would be robbed at night. Everyone lives in peace.

On the contrary, everyone living in cities is very stressful. Every morning, they wake up. They have to face a lot of stress awaiting them from their jobs or from school. Even a trivial thing can stress them very much, like stuck in a traffic jam and fear that they may be late for work or for school. They would also feel anxious if the lift stops all the time in every floor. They have no ways to release their stress and so their stress level is constantly increasing. There is no real friendship in cities. Everyone is manipulating each other by deception and lies in order to get a better job or money. Though everyone dresses glamorously with a nice suit or a beautiful dress, their hair is clean and tidy and they smell sweet. If you take away all their clothes and makeup, they look ugly and they even can’t look at themselves in a mirror. Everyone is wearing a mask when they see people. No one can be trusted in cities and everyone is lonely and pathetic.

Big cities and small towns, I see them very differently. One represents greed and envy and the other one represents harmony and peace. If I can choose where to live, I would prefer living in a small town with a simple live than living in a big city without a true love.

hello, i'm a teacher teaching EFL students English for academic purposes and at the moment i'm doing students' writing analysis. I find your writing worth analysing and interested in it. If you don't mind, could you tell me information like what course you are doing, where you are from, history of learning English and again, if you do not mind, age.
