pls corrct my mistakes
Since the beginning of mankind people are aiming for perfection.
Perhaps soon it will be possible to create a perfect human.
Nowadays we have a discussion about, if employers should be allowed to use genetic testing to find out if an employee has a genetic disease.
It is comprehensible that employers want to have the perfect person for a job, a person who never is ill and works more efficient than others. But it does not only give advantages.
The first argument for genetic testing is that employers can test beforehand if an employee gets ill. If an employee often gets ill you have to find another who does the job. As an employer you have to spend a lot of money in the substitution of ill workers. You better can better buy a machine of 1.000.000$ which never gets ill and which you never have to displace.
Secondly you can find the perfect person for a job. A company with only perfect employees is more efficient. As a result the company gets more profit, can extend and employ more workers. If all companies do it like the example from above, would not have several millions nonworker.
If you look at the arguments you have the impression that it is a very nice method to do a genetic test. But that is not true.
The first argument against, genetic testing is that people who may get a disease will never find a job. An employee can be perfect for the job; he will not get it, because there is maybe a disease in 5 years.
Also genetic testing would cost a lot of money. If an employer tests thousands of people, he can not pay the taxes for his company or the salaries for his employees.
Last but not least, with a genetic test you enter the private sphere of the employees.
According to the German law, it is not allowed to enter the private sphere of every kind of people.
One the one hand, employers have the safeness that their employees get not ill.
One the other hand, people who work very hard, but may get a disease cannot
find a job. In my opinion genetic testing should not be allowed, because it is an invasion in the private sphere and this is forbidden.
