Many students find it difficult to concentrate or pay attention at school.
What are the reasons? What could be done?

It is true that many students are not good at paying attention and concentrating at school. Two factors stand out for this failing, but there are some steps that can be taken to remedy this situation.

There are two common reasons for the lack of concentration and focus in most pupils. The first is the shortage of sleep. Most students have schedules that may be over-packed with activities, sports, lessons, clubs and home-works. Consequently, they often feel overwhelmed and can not get a proper amount of sleep daily. Second, adolescents are easily distracted by electronic devices. As many technologies can be set in silent, a student can send and receive text messages, play games which make his surroundings disturbed during the lesson.

There are measures which can be taken to deal with this . First, the government ought to urge education policymakers to start the middle and high school classes later in the morning, so that the odds of pupils can get sufficient sleep and thrive both physically and academically. In addition, to shape a positive learning environment, asking questions is a great tool for tutors. If a teacher requires his pupils to give their ideas about a social issue, they may feel curious and be stimulated a critical thinking. Therefore, more students will find the lecture more interesting and pay attention to the teacher . Finally, cell phones should be banned at schools, as most young minds are vulnerable to gaming or chatting online.

In conclusion, although focusing on lessons in classroom is a difficult task for many pupils for two reasons explained, there are some common-sense solutions that can be implemented to address this problem.
