Hi,

What is the difference between ploy and stratagem?

Here's how I think of these terms, basically.

ploy - Often aims for a short-term advantage. Often involves deception.

stratagem - Less short-term. Fancier.

Neither word is very common, but I think 'ploy' is the more common of the two.
